TORE ANDERSEN A professional singer and miscellaneous instrumentalist since 1982, Tore Andersen is today one of Norway's most prominenet singer/songwriters. After spending 10 years on the road with a "top 40"band, playing almost every dancehall there was, Tore met up with Ottar "B.H." Joh.. Being one of Scandinavias most profiled countryartists, he saw the potential in Tore's performances and songwriting. Based on a 5-song demo he landed Tore a recording contract with BMG records in 1992. Recorded in Nashville with top session players, the 1993 debut "the hero in me" contained 12 self penned songs (co-writers includes Tom Russell and Michael Woody of the Woodys) By one radio-dj named the first modern norwegian country record, it produced two chart singles. A video for the song "the fool I am" was also aired on CMT europe the following year. Along with keeping a pretty heavy touringschedule, Tore continued making frequent trips to Nashville, honing his writing skills, sometimes sitting in on writers nights. Back home Tore signed with New Cut Music - worked on new songs as well as on other artists projects until 1998 when his self titled and long awaited follow up was due for release. Recorded in Oslo, Tore Andersen (new Cut music) features another 11 self penned songs along with a Bo Diddley -inspired version of Don Gibsons "Blue ,blue day". Produced by Tore, Ottar "Big Hand" Johansen and J¿run B¿geberg (once a member of a-ha«s touring band) using many of Norway«s finest musicians, the album contains some really memorable moments. The critics joined in on saluting the record (Norways biggest newspaper "Verdens Gang" gave it a five star rating out of six) and the single "hard water" got massive airplirplay peaking at #2 on the norwegian popular music chart "Norsktoppen". Another track off the album, "Between Two Rivers", was also given heavy rotation on NRK 1 (NorwayÕs biggest radio station) for a consecutive five weeks. 1999 saw Tore promoting his album and performing not only around Norway but also in the U.S., Holland and Switzerland. And while more and more people and radiostations around the globe are picking up on Tore Andersen s music - we are confident that the start of the new millenium will be a bright one for this very talented artist.
